Live life to the full!!

As I sit here writing this it is very quiet Ellie is asleep and Joe has started reception this morning, he was so excited. He had requested a special breakfast as it a special day, mummy.!He was doing his sums as he put it at 7 this morning and by 8 he was dressed and ready to go. He couldn't go until 9.45! I don't know how I managed to contain him but I did. He is a little boy bursting with euthasiam for life, its wonderful! You somethmes feel you do everything at break neck speed, so you can fit as much in! How I love him!

Its new beginnings for Joe and in a different way for my Dad aswell. Over the weekend he suffered a heart attack and has been hospital, is now waiting to go home. He has been so distressed being separated from mum it will be good to have him back.

I went to see him yesterday and I became the carer, the parent, trying to reasure him everything would be alright, that he was in the best place, trying to distract him with his train magazine, it was so sad. I learn't so much about steam trains and his face became animated when talking about them. I wanted to make it all better for him and I couldn't. He's my Dad and I love him.

This is my first blog, I did attempt one I think a couple of months after Ellie was born, but it didn't work or I was to tired!

What made me start tonight??? Well I was driving back from my mum and dad's after a particularly stressful time with my Dad (who has Alzheimer's). I looked up and saw the moon and the stars.

You see the moon holds a special significance for everyone in my family as my Grandma Betty would always look at the moon and it didn't matter where we were we knew she would be with us in spirit. She is no longer with us, and so seeing the moon tonight reminded me of all the happy memories I have of her, she was an amazing lady who would tell you she could and would be awkward sometimes, may be that's where I get it from. We as a family learnt so much from her, I'm not saying she was perfect as nobody is, but she gave us values we try and keep to today.
